A home for donkeys and humans
"Here you can be sure that the animals are doing well"
In harmony with donkeys - personal development through connection
In the Burro Verde Refugium (formerly Burros & Artes) we not only create a safe home for donkeys, but also a place where personal development can happen in a very natural way - in contact with animals, nature and yourself.
The history of our donkey home began about 20 years ago - with a single donkey and the desire to build something special together with it. Over time, a loving place was created, which until recently was the home of 18 donkeys. But life is changing - and so a lot of things changed a few months ago: the farm has moved, and with it the donkey. Responsibility was also passed on - to a new owner who continues with heart, fresh energy and a great love for the long ears, which has grown over two decades. For everyone involved - people and animals - an exciting little adventure. We are currently in the middle of the reconstruction: new pastures, new ways, new opportunities. With this change, the concept also develops. We not only create a place where donkeys can feel safe and comfortable, but also a space for people who carry the same longing - for rest, for a bond, after a place where you simply feel at home.

Burro Verde is a place for slow arrivals, real encounter and quiet joy - worn by soft hooves, open heart and the power of nature.
Sustainability & community - together for donkeys, nature and cooperation
At Burro Verde (formerly Burros & Artes) we are committed to sustainable ways of life that serve both our donkeys and the environment. Cooperation with local projects is particularly important to us - especially with schools and children's groups. Because donkeys offer them a very special access: they are calm, patient, attentive - and often open doors where words do not help.
It is something special to be part of it: the donkeys get a safe home here, and at the same time there is a place of encounter for people - a place where you can learn, come to rest, laugh and tackle with them. Anyone who visits or support us helps to keep a piece of tradition and at the same time do something good for the future.
With heart, mind and joy - for humans, animals and nature.
