Our Team

Steffi has managed the donkey centre since May 2014. She brings deep love for nature, animals, and people to create unforgettable visitor experiences. With 15+ years in Aljezur, she possesses intimate knowledge of local flora, fauna, and Portuguese traditions.

Tine spent her childhood in Portugal alongside the donkeys. Her formal training in animal-assisted pedagogy enables her to build meaningful connections between visitors and animals. Her gentle nature and good understanding of animals facilitates trust-building with donkeys.

Bao serves as the operational backbone of the sanctuary. He possesses extensive skills as a carpenter, blacksmith, clay builder, and facility manager, ensuring smooth operations and making him invaluable to the project’s sustainability.
