Multi-Day Donkey Trek: Carrapateira – Aljezur

Discover the Algarve in a unique and unforgettable way on a 4- to 6-day donkey trekking adventure. This is our most popular tour, combining nature, slow travel, and authentic exploration.

Starting in the charming fishing village of Carrapateira, the journey takes you through the stunning landscapes of the Southwest Alentejo and Vicentine Coast Natural Park. Your donkey companion will accompany you along scenic coastal paths, circular routes, and sections of the famous Fishermen’s Trail. Along the way, you'll encounter dramatic cliffs, hidden coves, remote beaches, and traditional villages far from the crowds.

The tour can be enjoyed as a self-guided experience or accompanied by an experienced guide. Traveling at the relaxed pace of a donkey allows you to fully appreciate the beauty of the Atlantic coast, enjoy the peaceful surroundings, and connect with nature.

Extended Tour

First, we get to know the donkeys and connect with them in a calm and mindful way through gentle interaction, observation, brushing and first encounters.

We then continue through a varied and expansive landscape, shaped by tranquility, nature, and impressive views. Along different trails—sometimes gentle, sometimes a little more demanding—we explore the region at a relaxed pace, with plenty of time to observe and simply be present.

Along the way, we are accompanied by the donkeys, which bring a special sense of calm and connection to nature to the experience. The route passes through typical Mediterranean vegetation, open landscapes, and areas where the vastness of the region becomes especially striking.

This tour invites you to experience nature consciously, leave everyday life behind, and fully immerse yourself in the unique atmosphere of the landscape.

Amoreira Tour

Step into a slower, more magical pace of life with our Amoreira Tour.

Here, the rhythm of hooves meets the whisper of the waves, creating moments of pure connection with nature and our gentle donkey companions. Choose your adventure from two breathtaking paths:

The Cliff Path (9 km):
Follow the legendary Rota Vicentina and the iconic Fisherman's Trail. where the Atlantic stretches endlessly below and seabirds circle overhead. Every turn reveals new vistas—the beautiful seaside flora and fauna, deep blue water, and the kind of views that make you pause and breathe.

The Riverside Route (6 km) For a gentler journey, venture slightly inland to discover the hidden tranquility. This shorter adventure is a peaceful retreat where you can pause by the riverside, soaking in the calm before the journey continues.

Children up to 40kg are welcome to ride on the donkeys.
